@IonPower
Make sure you are at some distance from the ground and the aluminium plate is not in contact with the ground, must be isolated...

Success!

This is on the ground only for the picture. I try up to 2 meters.

After seeing romero's coil design I decided to wind another coil closer to his specs.

Results were very poor, max voltage was .360volts and amperage was not measureable also LED would not light.
I still connected a 6 volt battery and left it over night, standing Volts = 6.00V, next morning it was still at 6.00V :(

Maybe my tuning sucked !!!!

@romero,
What value of Cap did you tune to ?

The coil at the bottom left of the picture was the first one I used with better results.

Thanks & Cheers,
Hitman

Hitman, I used 600pf. try using a variable capacitor, it all depends what you are tuning to... try different type of coils, even a normal coil without middle tap and connect the antenna at one of the ends.

Hey romero,

I actually was using a variable cap in the top left of the picture, but it was no where near 600pf.
I will add more to the setup and get back to you, but now I'm stuck on another experiment, the self charging with HV transformer.

I finally figured out the windings of this old HV Xfmr and get quite a kick from it only using 6 volts, but I can't seem to get anything from my spark gap. I don't even need to connect my o-scope to it to see the wave form and I get a nice arc when I disconnet the ground from it.

I also tried connecting a variable cap in parallel with C2 122pf but still no spark.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

don't even think to connect the scope to the flyback, you will kill it instantly.
are you powering from a battery or from a power supply? must be battery.
I really don't see any reason for that not to spark

Romero what will be the effect instead of plasma ball to try with positive ion generator? The generator will work like our ionosphera on high altitude i think.

Yes, that can be replaced with high altitude antenna.

Romero, do you have Ion tester to check how much Ions are there near the antena? I see some ion testers in google that can test positive and negative ions.

Update on Method to charge batteries from the ambient  8)
I actually got it up to 15 volts across a cap.

I found cuircut for ion detector. I will build one and i will check how much ions are there near to the antena.
Here is the link: http://www.electroniq.net/other-projects/detectors/ion-detector-schematic-circuit.html if someone have interest to make that test.
